Interplastic has an exciting opening for a Customer Service Representative at the Corporate office in Vadnais Heights, MN.

The Customer Service Representative will work to satisfy customer needs and build a strong-working relationship with both external customers and internal teams. They will process and make changes to customer orders and complete required order acknowledgements. This is a “high-energy” position requiring an individual with good planning skills and the ability to stay motivated at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS):

Receive, enter, and monitor inbound purchase orders and communicate product availability, ship date, and other components to customer.
Determine availability of requested product through correspondence with manufacturing plants
Respond to customer inquiries such as price, availability, product certification, MSDS
Solve customer problems and complaints in a timely manner.
Initiate customer return material requests.
Double check invoices for accuracy of count, measure and amount.
Support Sales Representatives by providing pricing and product information.
Support Credit Department by issuing credits to customers and producing necessary documentation.

We currently have an opening for a Chemical Operator at our Vadnais Heights, Minnesota manufacturing facility. This position will compound batches and produce batches of gel coat and colorants and then package those materials to be shipped.

Major Responsibilities:

Follow compounding procedures on the batch cards and record all required information.
Make sure all drums or other containers are properly sealed and labeled for shipping.
Move drums and other containers to warehouse for shipping.
Follow all safety regulations set forth by the company.
Return all raw materials to their proper storage areas.
Light maintenance such as replacing blades or filter bags and baskets on pumps.
Clean vessels and equipment.
General house cleaning duties such as sweeping and emptying the trash bins.
Compound sample orders and notify manager when out or running short on raw materials.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Ideal Candidate must:

Read and understand written instructions.
Follow verbal instructions.
Work well alone and with others.

We currently have an opening for a Batch Maker at our Hawthorne, California manufacturing facility. The individual hired for this position must be able to do the following:

Follow company and site policies as related to Health, Safety, and Environment.
Demonstrate good housekeeping techniques and maintains a clean work environment.
Operate a forklift inside and outside of the plant moving drums and pallets of raw materials safely.
Compound polyester resin products according to batch manufacturing instructions.
Label and stencil drums.
Fill drums of finished materials and move these drums from the filling location to the warehouse.
Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to documented procedures.
Use computer-based systems while performing assigned tasks.
Review and update Standard Operating Procedures and Site Work Instructions.
Minimum Job Requirements:

Ability to wear a full-face respirator as required.
Follow all safe work practices related to the Hawthorne site.
Must be capable of learning the duties of a worker in a chemical plant environment.
Read and interpret batch sheet and resin manufacturing production.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must be able to lift, pull and push 55 lbs.
Must be capable of operating a forklift, filling drums with resin to the exact weights, loading
chemicals into reactors, making small batches and doing other jobs as assigned.
Use Company standard computer and software systems to facilitate job tasks. Examples include

We currently have an exciting opening for a Production Operator (C Operator) at our Ft. Wright, Kentucky manufacturing facility. This is a 12 hour rotating shift position: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (night shift), with every other weekend off with overtime opportunities.

Major Areas of Accountability:

1. Safety– Follow safety rules and encourage safe practices in the workplace. Responsible for performing duties according to procedures to ensure safe operations. Expected to make safety suggestions and set a good example for others.

2. Productivity– Ability to multi-task and correctly prioritize jobs to be performed. Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Expected to make suggestions to improve productivity and develop good work habits.

3. Daily Responsibilities –transfer material from vessel to vessel, material handling, compounding batches, packaging finished products, operating process equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, etc.), and loading/unloading tank trucks. Good housekeeping and organizational skills

4. Communication/Teamwork– Must have good communication skills (verbal, written) as well as good computer skills. The ability to work with well with others on the shift is critical.

5. Reliability- Punctuality and regularity of attendance are job requirements

Requirement:

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
3. Must have basic computer skills and be able to learn to operate the process control systems and processes.
4. Good reading and math skills. Able to make simple calculations and follow written procedures
5. Must be able to wear proper safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, respirator, dust mask and hardhat

Preferred:

1. Ability to follow directions and apply the on-the-job training.

We currently have an exciting opening for an experienced night Quality Control Technician at our Minneapolis, MN manufacturing facility. The schedule for this position is 2 days on, 5 days off, 5 days on, 2 days off. This individual must be able to work Monday and Tuesday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am and Friday-Sunday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am every other weekend.

Essential Functions:

Safety-

1. Assist the shift supervisor with the enforcement of safety rules and encouragement of safe conduct in the workplace.
2. Responsible for performing your lab duties in accordance with standard safe laboratory practices.

Quality–
1. Ensuring a product is not released for shipment unless all specifications are met or proper authorization has been obtained to release a product not meeting all specifications.

We currently have an exciting opening for an experienced Chemical Blender (B Operator) at our Minneapolis, MN manufacturing facility.

Major Responsibilities:

Drive a yard tractor truck to move tankers and vans, including spotting in specific spots and backing into parking spaces.
Hook up trailers to the tractor.
Follow written and verbal instructions to load and unload material from production, specific tankers, storage tanker, and rail cars. This includes making proper connections with hoses, setting valves, turning pumps on and off, and checking paperwork
Clean and organize the work area.
Assist with other duties in the plant as directed by the supervisor. This includes but is not limited to driving a fork lift, filling and moving drums (empty and filled), performing inventory counts, and cleaning.
Ideal Candidate must be able to:

Work 12-hour day shift - 6 pm to 6 am - Friday – Sunday. Work 36 hours and paid for 40 hours.
Drive a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license. Experience driving a tractor trailer is a plus.
Chemical handling experience is desirable
Communicate with multiple people in various areas of the plant.
Work in extreme heat and humidity in the plant
Work outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
Have a High School degree or equivalent.
Read and write and perform basic math functions.
Understand and operate a computer system to control the flow of material.
Lift up to 50 pounds, bend to work at ground level, and climb ladders on tankers and railcars.
Must be medically cleared to wear a respirator for nuisance dust and as well as a full-face air purifying respirator.
Attend monthly safety/quality meetings.
