When you buy a Do it Yourself epoxy kit it says to prep the concrete by acid washing it. Most professionals will give it a grind first. In fact most manufacturers of epoxy require grinding as a condition for their warrantees. Here are a few pictures to see what a good grind will do and why its better to do this before applying the epoxy. Thanks to Braden for modeling it for us.

Years ago while doing handyman work I had a friend ask me how to add a couple layers of block to the top of his wall. Instead of trying to explain it to him I asked if he would be willing to pay my daily rate and I would teach him how to do it. I worked with him one day, and we laid one side of his yard wall. He was then equipped and empowered to complete the project on his own. That is one of the services we provide. Nobody knows everything. But once you have a general idea of how to use the tools you have and a vision of what you are trying to do, the rest is just having the confidence to figure it out. Once I learned the basics of electrical work, I have been able to teach it to so many others. I had other handymen who would call me (still call me) with their electrical questions and if I couldn’t go in person I would walk them through it over the phone. What’s my point? I am good at teaching others what I know. I break things down into step by step pieces and often draw pictures to help people understand. Its good to have someone to call on when you need a quick lesson. That’s what we are here for.
