It is specifically for use on single condensing units to successfully implement floating head pressure control. Over 2 years of development and testing have gone into the product that is currently being marketed to supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants and light industrial customers. Floating Head is the allowance of the high side pressure to vary up and down along with outdoor temperature

in air-cooled systems. Reduction of the head pressure during low outdoor ambient temperature conditions (under 70 degrees F) significantly reduces the compression ratio of the compressor and thereby decreases energy consumption. In addition, the liquid return from the condenser is sub-cooled, which increases the capacity of the evaporator and reduces overall run time of the compressor required to meet the load.
