This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies built two mast arms for a project on Union Street in Bangor.

Whenever possible, we prefer to assemble these at our shop. Doing so allows us to lay out the signals and signage per plans while addressing any custom modifications that may be needed before installation. This limits our time spent over traffic which means less impact to drivers. It's a win-win!

We should be “flying” these later this week so be on the lookout for photo updates!

A few weeks ago, Frazier Signal Technologies was contacted by the Old Town Public Works Department to install a kiosk at Binnette Park.

This interactive kiosk is one of five being installed as part of an economic development initiative in the Greater Bangor area designed to help visitors discover local attractions.

Our team handled the full process—transporting the kiosk to the park and completing the electrical installation to get it operational.

Projects like this highlight our capability to support municipal roadside electrical needs.

We’re proud to have been part of this effort and appreciate the opportunity.

Have a great week, everyone.

Frazier Signal Technologies had a productive week in Aroostook County, where several members of our crew spent multiple days completing a Maine Department of Transportation assignment installing Carmanah Speed Signs.

Our team covered a wide range of locations—including Danforth, Mars Hill, Limestone, St. Agatha, and Eagle Lake—successfully installing a total of 10 signs.

One thing we didn’t expect? Just how much snow is still holding on in northern Maine this time of year.

We also made a quick stop in Fort Kent for a lighthearted moment—snapping a photo outside a local jiu-jitsu gym and jokingly texting a former brown belt co-worker on how we were going to challenge the instructor!

All in all, it was a busy and rewarding week, and we’re looking forward to keeping the momentum going.

This past week, Frazier Signal Technologies spent time in Downeast Maine upgrading Maine DOT roadway signage throughout the region’s beautiful coastal communities.

While the scenery was incredible, the Downeast coast also brought its share of challenges—cold temperatures, steady rain, and plenty of stubborn ledge beneath the surface.

Our digger derrick did its best where site conditions allowed, but in several locations we’ll be calling on the expertise of Maine Construction Solutions to assist with drilling through the ledge for upcoming post installations.

A big thank you as well to Derrick and Jeremy from Project Flagging for their help throughout the week.

With a little luck, next week we’ll trade the rain for some sunshine while continuing to enjoy the views along Maine’s coastline.

Have a great week, everyone!

This is a fun story from a quick job we completed this week in western Maine, just down the road from Sugarloaf Mountain.

We were called out to Carrabassett Valley to troubleshoot a flashing Icy Road Warning Sign that was no longer communicating with its partner sign further up the road.

One of the signs is located next to the municipal airport and receives almost no cell phone service, which made troubleshooting a bit more interesting. My assignment was to contact TAPCO support and work through the issue.

Thank goodness for the kindness of Mainers. The convenience store about 100 feet away was kind enough to share their internet password—otherwise I would have been stuck driving a half mile up the road just to get a signal to relay any infomation or findings.

It took a little time, but we were able to identify the problem and get the signs communicating reliably again—helping keep drivers informed and safe on the road.

One of the projects Frazier Signal Technologies tackled this week was the installation of a new utility pole and the relocation of a span wire across Broadway in Bangor carrying multiple traffic signals.

The Broadway/I-95 Bridge project continues to move forward. As the site was prepared for the southbound on ramp construction, existing equipment was found to be a hinderance to some drainage structures. The solution - adapt and evolve as a team.

This was a great project, although it required a cold night shift—brrrr!

Thank you to the team for your hard work and dedication.

Over the past several weeks, winter weather has delayed a number of our projects, requiring us to adjust the schedule and shuffle work accordingly.

It was a busy week for Frazier Signal Technologies:

Monday: We were in Rockland installing four traffic cameras at the Broadway and Limerick intersection.

Tuesday: We purchased and removed pallet racking and metal shelving from the former Millinocket Mill site, now operated by the Our Katahdin group.

Wednesday: Shop organization day—setting up our new racking and pallet storage system.

Thursday: Completed multiple MaineDOT assignment letters, traveling to Houlton, Mars Hill, Blaine, Caribou, Van Buren, and Fort Fairfield.

Its school vacation week - good luck to everyone 😂

Out with the old, in with the new.

We recently completed a quick lighting update at the Maine State Police Weigh Station in Kittery. The existing high-rise lighting safety switch had reached the end of its service life and required replacement.

After receiving a request from the Maine State Police, our team was happy to step in and complete the upgrade safely and efficiently.

If your municipality, school, agency, or business needs traffic or roadway lighting updates, we’re available 24/7.
