As the first day of school draws near, Verendrye Electric Cooperative is excited to join the Minot Parks' Back to School Bash, sponsored by Minot State University. As part of the celebration, Fill the Bus will once again be joining the event to help collect school supplies for local families preparing for the year ahead.
Join us on Thursday, August 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Hill Sertoma Complex. Look for the big bus and help support local students by donating new school supplies as they head back to the classroom.
While you're there, stick around and enjoy all the fun the Back to School Bash has to offer, including:
• Bounce Houses
• Yard Games
• Activities hosted by Minot State University
• A hot dog lunch grilled by Creedence Energy Services (free-will donations benefit the Salvation Army)
• Cool treats from Verendrye Electric Cooperative
• Face painting by Nature's Nook, courtesy of Town & Country Credit Union
If you’d like to donate school supplies before August 6, you can do so at our Verendrye Electric Minot or Velva locations. The most needed items include backpacks, glue sticks, accordion folders, pencil bags and boxes, one-inch binders, Sharpies, red or black pens, crayons, paint, markers, Kleenex, headphones, graphing calculators, and highlighters.
Families needing school supplies can call the Minot Salvation Army at 701-838-8925 to apply. There is no income requirement to qualify.

July 27th to July 30th and August 3 to August 6th.
