Biodico, Inc., applauds the signing of two pieces of landmark climate legislation by California Governor Brown, one which sets a new goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 40% below 1990 levels by 2030 and another that will make sure climate change policies benefit the most polluted communities in the state

Biodico was one of nearly 60 producers and providers of – ranging from electricity to diesel – signed a joint letter urging state policymakers to sustain the state’s policy. The industry leaders say the tool is a “critical” part of the plan to reduce California’s and that it is already driving in-state investment.

Biodico held a kickoff meeting for its Zero Net Energy Farms project, bringing together a diverse set of highly talented institutions.

The project enables farms to generate all electrical and heating power needs from on-site , while reducing footprints, leveraging Biodico’s proprietary technology. The aim is to create an energy efficient farm by utilizing economically viable solutions, establishing a template for ranches, farms and other agricultural interests throughout California’s Central Valley and beyond.

The award was granted under California Energy Commission Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) Challenge to develop innovative and replicable approaches for accelerating the deployment of Advanced Energy Communities (AEC) located in economically disadvantaged areas.

Biodico is matching California Energy Commission funds to develop a real world conceptual design that combines cogeneration, wind turbines, anaerobic digestion and gasification at Red Rock Ranch in Five Points, Fresno County, Calif.

Yesterday - Biodico CEO, Russ Teall joined Ron Kortba, the editor of Biodiesel Magazine, Kurt Holecek, an Austrian consultant, and Dehua Liu, a professor from the University of Beijing specializing in enzymatic conversion of vegetable oils into biodiesel on a panel at the 2016 Advanced Biofuels Expo. Also a nice picture of Ron and Kurt goofing around at the Harley Davidson Museum reception.
