Last night we attended the Cattle Baron’s Ball in support of the American Cancer Society in Orlando.

Our son, Ramie, has been through a long fight with a rare liver cancer. He was nine when it began. He is thirteen now, healthy, and full of life. We don’t often share this side of our story here as this page is usually about the work we do, but last night felt worth noting.

Ramie spoke with quiet strength and brought the hospital bands he has saved from every treatment. Watching the room respond with such generosity was deeply moving.

We brought bottles of our family’s honey for each table, and the paddles kept going up. One table bid $750 for a single bottle! The kindness in that room was something we will not forget.

Thank you to Amy Kaufeldt for sharing Ramie’s story with such care, and to everyone who showed up and gave.
