We installed the glass yesterday and are wrapping up the odds and ends in this extreme overhaul of what was a tiny bath and bringing laundry up two flights from the basement.
Client had such an eye for detail that this may be one of the best bathrooms we have ever done. She was opposed to gold fixtures anything grey/white and sterile. In the end, only the gold made sense with her house style and using classy tans has made this space both luxurious and calm.
Behind the scenes: A bedroom was sacrificed. The one we assumed we would take did not happen due to some structural piping for her heat system. The costs to reroute that made little sense. So we have to pivot.
Three full days were spent in the basement replacing old pipe that would eventually become problematic before ever tearing one thing out of the old bathroom.
Under the floor rerouting of pipes for new layout got tricky. Half the house floor joists ran one and the other half another. You cannot simply cut into them for pipe and keep load bearing integrity.
So when your builder says - he will not know until he see what is back there - this is what he means.
