The Next Generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) will reveal more about the universe, but it will also create opportunities for K–12 STEM education, apprenticeships and workforce training — including careers in specialized trades that are essential to building and maintaining the antennas.

In the latest episode of Beyond the Breakthrough, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) Corrina Jaramillo Feldman discusses how the ngVLA could help prepare the next generation of scientists, technicians and skilled-trades professionals.

With support from the National Science Foundation (NSF), AUI led a study in partnership with Tumble Science Podcast for Kids to better understand how teachers and students use podcasts in 3rd- to 6th-grade classrooms. The first findings are in!

Podcasts are ALREADY a part of the classroom! Teachers are pressing play during lesson time, free choice time and indoor recess.

60% of teachers use podcasts in the classroom.

82% listen together as a whole class.
