Experience in my younger years; I started off volunteering my time at Faith Farm Ministries, where I worked for free on the weekends just to get my hands and service knowledge on all types of equipment. So when I was finally hired after a year of working for free, I wanted to get a jump on the experience because I was going to tech school in the evenings. When going to school the teacher told me I
was to advanced for this class and that was all due to the hands on work of the multiple types of equipment that I had already been working on. I started as general service mechanic on appliances and maintenance of all the facilities equipment, a total of three facilities, air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment & walk in coolers. I worked on all of the equipment in the kitchen and I enjoyed working there, I got to interact with the guy’s in these programs, these guy’s have life problems drinking or drugs. I would teach them my trade to fix appliances, sand them down and paint them, once finished they were sold in the thrift stores. This helped support the center and I was able to give back to the community through my helping the guys, I taught a lot of men in the 14 years I worked at the Faith Farm but I also learned a lot from the guys, I went to school for air conditioning and appliance repair, I learned furniture refinishing on my break watching them, it was quite a good time for my education in being a technician. We built walk in coolers and freezers at our facilities, this is where I began entering into the refrigeration field, I was fortunate enough to work with a great guy by the name of “Gerald Gilles” for the next eight years he both worked me hard and trained me. He not only was he a good refrigeration mechanic but he also had an engineering degree and was licensed in the State of Florida as an HVAC contractor. I started working at the farm when I was 19 years and at age 25 I went and passed the state contractor exam and became a licensed contractor. I now hold a Class B Florida State HVAC license, GA State Unlimited HVAC License, Alabama Heating & A/C License and I am also fully NATE Certified. I had my service business since the first year working at the Faith Farm, the appliances only had a 30 day guarantee but they let us service out of warranty items. I worked for Glenn at Certified Energy Services and I enjoyed using the skills that I have learned while I was out on the road meeting customers and solving commercial cooling or refrigeration problems, I wasn’t the fastest service tech but I had very few call backs for the same problem. I moved to Georgia where I went to work for Harold Morris, he enjoyed my work and I became a sub contractor where I installed HVAC systems, both gas and electric heat pumps, I also learned to run black iron gas pipes. I have been in the Douglasville area since 1997, I take pride in the fact that I am a problem solver and I am one of the best in the areas. If you want your system to run right I am your guy...The Cool Guy.
