Had a local farmer reach out wanting some damage caused by a fork lift repaired. We removed the gaurdrail and cut the wall open to inspect the damage. There was minimal framing support behind the sheet metal which allowed the damage to be worse than it should have been. We replaced the broken framing and added bracing that we anchored to the concrete. We made a trip to source and have the new material custom made. Installed a piece of z flashing at our cut line to make the wall waterproof, then re hung the heavy gaurdrail. We added a bread of caulking to the floor as this can be a wet area of the shop and we wanted to leave it better than it was when we got on-site.

This homeowner reached out to say that she didn't feel comfortable using these basement stairs because the last step was rotten. She also requested an additional handrail be added. The stairs were custom dimensions built to fit the existing space. We did quite a bit of layout work before coding the stringers to make sure that every step was the same distance. It not only looks good, but is also for safety reasons as well.
The homeowner couldn't believe that we sourced materials, drove 25 minutes to the site, and got everything done from start to finish in one day.
Proper material planning and skilled ex*****on made for a quick and efficient stair removal and replacement.

I know that I'm terrible about posting content to this page. Luckily, I am staying busy taking care of customers that find me organically (typically through word of mouth.) I get notifications about this page getting views all the time, so if you're checking it out and have questions, don't hesitate to send a message to let me know what's on your mind. This is a general contacting company that focuses on custom remodels/builds.

I stopped in for some re fresher training at Neihaus lumber in Vincennes yesterday. This live demonstration was hosted by Schluter. They design and manufacture lots of waterproofing and shower products that can be used before and during custom tile installations. Having the right products to install in wet environments is crucial for long term builds. Having the knowledge of how to install them properly is just as crucial. If your contractor isn't keeping up to date on the latest materials and processes and procedures for installing them, they may not be giving you the best finished product.

Another shot from inside of the new tool trailer. I went with a blue tool box that matches the LINK Home Renovations Logo. Topped it with a Butcher block counter top routered out to fit tight and look like it came with box. The left side shows the electrical power station. The trailer is able to be plugged into shore power, or run off of a deep cycle battery. A power inverter, battery tender, and lots of other pieces of the puzzle make it possible. Lots of measuring and planning went on to make this look like it was made for the space. This is no different than custom home remodeling.

I did my research and decided Milwaukee is how I want to further organize the new tool trailer. Made a trip to Amish country to get bulk discount pricing, as well as a promotion directly through Milwaukee that landed me over $400 in extra gear at no cost to me.
This is the research I do for my customers as well, because if the materials are high priced, then that makes my estimate higher priced and I could lose work because of it. If your contractor is going to the closest box store to pick up all of the materials for your job, then they probably weren't looking to save you money on materials.
Stay tuned for the mount and install of this gear and more into the new trailer

Installed some lights in the new tool trailer. I should've done this on my previous trailer, but since this one is wider, taller and longer it definitely needed to be done. There will be more lights added in the front once I finish building the shelves up there. The trailer is wired to be able to run off of shore power as well as an onboard deep cycle battery if no power is available onsite. Still a work in progress, but slowly coming along

As I filled my business entity report and third quarter taxes I thought it would be a good time to make a post about who you have working on your house. Is the contractor you've chosen registered with the state? Are they insured, and do they have licenses if required? These are questions that you shouldn't be afraid to ask when choosing someone to work for you. The last thing you want is to have problems after work is completed, and find out the contractor isn't insured, or may not even be in business anymore.
Hopefully this post will save you alot of headaches and even more money when choosing your next contractor.

Been making some progress on building out the new tool trailer. None of this is complete yet. We're still mocking things up and deciding exactly how to get the most storage from the trailer space. This custom cabinet has removable dividers that allow us to customize the sizes of the pockets. We have a space to be able to store 4' x 8' sheets of material to keep them out of the weather. Against the side we had to compete with the wheel well, so we built 3 deep sliding drawers that lock in and pull out as needed to store long, or random tools. Towards the front we built a storage closet for brooms, shovels, scrapers etc and a couple shelves. It doesn't look like much from the pictures, but alot can be packed into this small space!

I'm behind on giving updates about the trailer, but here is the end result of newly painted wheels. The silver trailer color was special ordered because silver is in the LINK Home Renovations Logo. Blue is a well, so what better combo for the trailer than those? Blue wheels weren't an option when ordering.
Was painting them necessary? Absolutely not, but attention to detail is what sets apart a great contractor from a good one in my opinion.
The wheels were removed, sanded, primed, painted, then clear coated. If you didn't know- a great paint job begins with the prep work BEFORE the paint is applied. That holds true whether it be trailer wheels, the walls and ceilings in your house, outdoor barns or anything else.
