Follow the 20-Degree Rule: Don't expect your AC to hold 70°F if it is 100°F outside. Aim for an indoor-outdoor difference of about 20 degrees to avoid overworking the compressor.

Check Air Filters: Restricted airflow from a dirty filter forces your system to work overtime. Inspect and replace filters every 1 to 2 months.

Block the Sun: Draw your blinds, curtains, and shades during the day to prevent solar heat gain from warming up your living spaces.
