Got the batter boards up so we could pull layout and mark out our footings on our current new construction build.

This is one of the most crucial steps of the whole job. Our concrete has to be within an eighth of an inch in every direction, up, down, left, right, with square corners and dead level. That takes a skilled crew to get right, and it makes all the difference when we go to stand the building up.

Here's a look at the underground work that never makes the highlight reel. Excavation, pipe laying, and valve assembly all buttoned up and ready to go. A log cabin with a shower on the exterior wall presents an aesthetically pleasing appearance, but in the long term, it is likely to result in rot. We replaced the rotten logs, properly waterproofed the wall, and installed hammered copper sheets to match the bathtub and other accents in the bathroom.

Removed a wall and installed a beam in its place. This space is going to make a great reception area for a town hall.

Had a client with a fence getting blown over and an area that needed some grading and landscaping. We tore out the old fence, pulled the loose posts, tightened up the layout with posts closer together, drilled proper depth holes, set them in concrete, and reinstalled the fencing. What was falling over after a year is now solid as a rock. We also added a functional stream bed for drainage, graded a smooth flat area for a future bridal path, planted trees, and spread woodchips from the client’s own pruning. Big thanks to Bud Lee and Sons Inc. for the rock and concrete and to Hurricane Equipment Rentals for the skid loader and attachments!
