Yesterday’s U.S. House Homeland Security Subcommittee hearing made one thing clear: drone threats are imminent, and we urgently need an integrated airspace management system to address them.
Formed in the wake of 9/11, the committee doesn’t take this lightly, and nor do the witnesses. As Chairman Gimenez warned, we didn’t see 9/11 coming, but we see this coming. Now it’s time to collaborate, implement, and protect America’s skies before it’s too late.
Tom and his fellow witnesses emphasized that the technology to safely coordinate our skies already exists. What we need now is the national will to implement it—before it’s too late.
