🚨 Wall Lake Neighbors, ASSEMBLE! 🚨
PSA from your friendly neighborhood receptionist:
Amazon swears they β€œhanded it directly to the receptionist or someone at the front desk.”
Newsflash⚑⚑: That someone is me… and I got absolutely nothing.
So if you’re staring at a random Amazon box wondering, β€œDid I black out and order something?”, it’s probably ours.
Come on, Wall Lake, help a girl out before I have to explain to my boss why we haven't received the package yet. πŸ˜‚
Drop me a message, and I’ll be grateful to come grab it!

Fun Fact Friday! πŸš€πŸ•°οΈ
Did you know that back in 1835, a whip-smart 22-year-old named William Smith Otis invented the steam shovel? This bad boy revolutionized digging for railroads and canals – basically the OG excavator that said, "Hold my steam, I'm about to move mountains!" He patented it in 1839 (Patent No. 1,089), but plot twist: poor William kicked the bucket that same year at just 26. Talk about inventing your way into history... and then exiting stage left! πŸ˜… His machine could chug through 380 cubic meters of dirt a day – that's like filling 100 modern dump trucks. Not too shabby for a 19th-century beast!
Fast-forward to today at King Construction, where our excavators are the evolved descendants of Otis's invention. Our mini excavators hustle through 50-100 cubic meters a day (perfect for those "I need a quick dig" jobs), while our mighty Komatsu PC360 beasts crush 320-800 cubic meters in an 8-hour shift – outpacing the original by a landslide! πŸ’ͺπŸ› οΈ
Who knew digging could be this dramatic? Drop a πŸ˜‚ if you're impressed, or tag a friend who loves digging in dirt. What's your favorite historical construction invention or crazy dirt-digging story? Check out our website at www.kingconstruction.net

COUNCIL UPDATE: LIFT STATION PROJECTS - Last evening, the Storm Lake City Council heard an update on lift station projects currently taking place in three locations. All of the projects are on schedule. While it has proven difficult to obtain shipping of certain parts, the streets will be opened this season while awaiting those deliveries.
* College Avenue and 3rd Street - Work in the roadway is nearing completion. Weather permitting, the contractor plans to pour concrete Monday or Tuesday of next week, and the street could be reopened to traffic in the latter portion of the week. BVU parking area will also be reopened soon. Project completion is scheduled for next April.
* Scout Park (Lighthouse Drive) - The large lift station project has been delayed somewhat by wet weather, but the contractor has committed additional resources to ensure that the project remains on schedule. The closed lane of Lighthouse Drive will be reopened when possible. Site restoration and lift station startup is scheduled for next spring or summer, with completion by fall.
* Icehouse Lift Station (Vista Drive) - With the Scout Park project as the priority, when that project nears completion, the smaller Icehouse lift station will be replaced. The contractor plans to break ground this fall or winter, and complete the project in 2026.

Friday, our crew in Storm Lake prepared for a concrete pour.
Here you can check out this deep trench in action, reinforced with sturdy shoring from Contractor Solutions. Trench depth is a critical factor in constructionβ€”deep excavations like this one require proper shoring to prevent collapses and ensure worker safety. The red shoring panels and rebar setup you see here are key to stabilizing the structure. Always prioritize safety with the right equipment and techniques! πŸ’ͺ
