Starting on a new project with some very special material, an Oregon walnut "cookie", or a cross-section slice out of an extraordinarily large log.
The slab is 2 3/8" thick, and to get the bookmatched panels it has to be resawn. The size of the panels are larger than our bandsaw can handle, so it's time to get a workout!

Our latest Entry Door, finished and installed.
Black walnut with Oregon book-matched maple.
Cocobolo and zircote accents.
Pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery, built to last on our rugged North Oregon Coast.

Here is a little double-curved range hood in the works. Quarter-sawn white oak.

This is the last piece in the "Three Sisters" tables, all gotten from the same slab of walnut.
This piece is in Walnut and Elm.
The top is turned on the lathe, 22 1/4" diameter.
