We’ve received a lot of questions about beach access around Harry S. Truman Dam & Reservoir for the upcoming weekend, and we hear you!

Due to high water levels and standard water testing results, some of our designated swim beaches are currently closed.

Shawnee Bend Beach: Open

Thibaut Point Beach: Lake inundation
Long Shoal Beach: Lake inundation
Bucksaw Beach: Failed standard water sample testing (high E. coli levels)

We know this can be frustrating, especially as summer heats up, and we truly appreciate your patience.

Memorial Weekend is a wet and muddy one this year!
We tried to do some mowing and just made lots of ruts and got stuck. Some roads are washed out still.
We apologize if yards are not mowed.
We may try some more tomorrow if it dries enough. Here are some pics of flooding from a fellow customer.

‼️SIGNIFICANT DAMAGING WINDS are possible across parts of Eastern KANSAS into Western MISSOURI including TOPEKA & KANSAS CITY!

Very strong gusts (80+ mph) are possible with this MCS along with a couple TORNADOES!
