That rust doesn't happen overnight.

This Falmouth basement tank had been deteriorating for years — heavy corrosion across the entire surface, original black paint mostly gone. It was still standing, but not for much longer.

We pulled it out, cleared the piping, and left the space open. The only evidence it was ever there: two small holes in the block wall where the fill and vent lines ran.

Tank was up on a metal stand with supply and return lines running straight through the ceiling. Filter assembly, containment tray, the whole setup.

This Newport basement tank had been sitting long enough that the exterior was heavily corroded and leaving dark oil staining on the shell. The red-tagged appliance in front of it tells the rest of the story.
