There’s something about real wood siding and soffit that just changes the feel of a home. Clean lines and new construction are great — but when you can combine that with materials that already feel warm, natural, and aged-in, the house starts to feel like it belongs the day it’s finished.

This project is coming together exactly that way. The wood tones, texture, and natural variation are giving the exterior a timeless look instead of the typical “brand new” appearance.

One of the biggest keys to making a new build feel aged-in is material selection. Natural wood, thoughtful color choices, depth in trim details, and letting materials have character instead of trying to make everything look perfectly uniform goes a long way.

Modern construction doesn’t have to feel cold. Done correctly, you can build something new that still feels grounded, warm, and lived-in from day one.

Really happy with how the siding and soffit are coming together on this one.

We got the first night of the season over and the results are not good and definitely feels like a case deja vu. Started 5th in the heat and finished 7th. Feature started 14th and moved up a few before pulling off with one to go during a caution.

Don noticed during a late race caution he was getting warm so he shifted to neutral to give it and few throttle pumps and heard something. We were hoping for maybe a simple rocker arm but no.... She blown.

We seem to have a thing with Gondik Law Speedway and engines. We only full send there and I think this is number 5. 🤷 Hopefully this means racing the season opener is at ABC Raceway will like reliving a dream!!!

It’s siding season — and this is still one of our favorite exterior combinations we’ve done.

The contrast between the clean white horizontal siding and the dark vertical board-and-batten completely changes the feel of the home. It creates depth, highlights architectural details, and gives the project a timeless look without feeling overly trendy.

Siding selection is about more than just color.
Texture, profile, layout, shadow lines, and how materials transition together all play a major role in the finished product.

A well-designed exterior should feel balanced, intentional, and fit the style of the home from every angle.

Throwback to a project that still stands out to us years later.

Construction is constantly evolving, and part of our job is staying open to better ways of building.

One system we’ve continued exploring is SIP panels (Structural Insulated Panels). When designed and installed correctly, they can create an extremely efficient building envelope while also helping improve build speed, air sealing, and overall performance of the structure.

Like anything in construction, there’s no “one size fits all” solution. Different projects require different approaches. But we believe it’s important to continue learning, asking questions, and exploring new techniques and technology that may improve the finished product for our clients.

Good builders don’t just repeat the same process forever.
They continue looking for ways to build smarter, stronger, and better.

“What is that machine?”

This is a Wacker Neuson RTSC3 trench roller — and while it may not be the most exciting piece of equipment on a project, it plays a major role in making sure the work underneath your project is done correctly.

Its job is to compact soil in trenches and tight areas after utilities are installed. Why does that matter? Because improper compaction leads to settling, movement, cracked concrete, uneven surfaces, drainage issues, and repairs years down the road.

Could you skip steps like this and move faster?
Sure. A lot of people do.

But quality construction isn’t just about the things you can see when the project is done. It’s about taking the time to handle the details underneath the surface — the parts no one notices unless they fail.
