We're excited to share that WingXpand has been selected for Verizon's Community Disaster Resilience Innovation Accelerator.

For years, we've developed autonomous systems that help operators rapidly gather actionable information across large areas in some of the world's most demanding environments. Through this accelerator, we're exploring how those capabilities could help strengthen disaster preparedness, communications resiliency, and situational awareness.

WingXpand's xRAI™ Smart Plane™ expands from a backpack-sized package, deploys in under five minutes, flies for more than 75 minutes, carries up to 7 pounds of customizable payloads, and uses onboard AI to help identify hazards, anomalies, and areas of interest in real time.

As disasters become more frequent and complex, organizations need better ways to understand conditions, communicate effectively, and make informed decisions.

Last year at SOF Week, Team WingXpand had the opportunity to brief King Abdullah II of Jordan, General Bryan Fenton, then Commander of USSOCOM, Melissa Johnson, Acquisition Executive for USSOCOM and head of SOF AT&L Acquisition Executive, and a cadre of senior leaders from across the global special operations community.

That’s what makes SOF Week special.

It’s one of the few places where operators, allied nations, defense leaders, and builders all come together around a shared mission of supporting the warfighter and advancing what’s possible.

There’s an energy around this community that’s hard to describe until you experience it firsthand. The conversations are real, the challenges matter, and the focus is always on solving problems that have real world impact.

The industry keeps pushing a tradeoff that shouldn’t exist.

VTOL takes off straight up and down. Easy to launch but more limited in range and time.
Fixed-wing flies like an airplane. Long range, long endurance but can be harder to deploy.
