Award-Winning Excellence at BWI Airport

We're thrilled to share that Innovo Construction has received the 2025 Craftsmanship Award from the Washington Building Congress (WBC) for our specialty glasswork at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport’s Concourse A/B Connector.
Partnering with Clark Construction Group, our team delivered a high-performance glazing system that redefines architectural expectations:
- A modified skylight system customized to be a sloped curtain wall spanning nearly 500 feet across the hold room expansion between concourses A and B.
- 13,000 sq. ft. of Electronically controlled switchable-tint glass with wire pathways integrated within the framing system.
- A custom barrel-vault skylight system with 14,000 sq. ft. of glass with a uniquely challenging geometry.

This award is more than a milestone — it’s a reflection of the passion, precision, and expertise we bring to every commercial glass system we build.

- A 50-foot-high structural glass wall façade supported solely by vertical and horizontal glass fins
- 2 monumental skylights with glass units over 3,000 Lb each.
- Penthouse façade: 4,500 SF structural glass supported by 70 exterior glass fins,
- Over 40,000 lbs of glass installed with precision and care

Innovo Construction is proud to announce the successful completion of the UMD Chemistry Wing Interior Fit-Out, a remarkable project for Maryland’s flagship university. Completed in November 2023, this state-of-the-art space reflects our commitment to precision, quality, and innovation. The project features custom interior curtain walls crafted with triple-ply laminated and oversized glass, along with sleek aluminum-glass doors that blend functionality with style. To ensure safety without compromising design, we also installed fire-rated aluminum entrances and storefronts.

Last week, Innovo successfully installed the final glass unit on a 14,000-square-foot barrel vault skylight system, marking the Watertight milestone for the BWI Airport Concourse A/B Connector Expansion project!

Despite inclement weather from Hurricane Helene and various logistical challenges, our team fully glazed the entire system in just two weeks. We are proud to recognize our dedicated Innovo crew and our field partners, Kyro Systems, for accomplishing this incredible feat!

Innovo Construction Wins Big at the 2024 Excellence in Construction Awards!

We are proud to announce that Innovo Construction, has been honored in the Specialty Construction category at the prestigious Excellence in Construction Awards 2024 hosted by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Metro Washington.

Our work at Johns Hopkins University (555 Penn) involved the installation of suspended acoustical double-glazed curtain wall systems within a six-story atrium. Installing the 700 lb glass units 60 feet above ground inside an enclosed building was a challenge, but our team managed it with superior safety and quality.

At Innovo, we’re constantly pushing boundaries to deliver top-tier glass systems, ensuring every project meets the highest standards and serves our clients' needs, as well as supporting our local community. This award reflects our dedication to both craftsmanship and collaboration.

We are proud to have completed the renovation and new construction project at Lorraine H. Whitlock Elementary School in Washington, D.C. between January and July 2024. Innovo Construction transformed key areas of the school, including updated bathroom facilities, modern laboratories, classrooms, and a state-of-the-art gymnasium. Our team installed glass walls and storefront systems that bring natural light into the spaces, enhancing both the aesthetic and functional environment for students and staff.
