⚠️ Deadline Extension for Maryland Benchmarking Compliance ⚠️

Maryland has officially extended the benchmarking deadline for covered buildings. Benchmarking reports and exemption requests submitted by June 30, 2026 will now be considered timely.

This year also marks the first time third-party verification is required as part of the benchmarking process - adding a new layer of coordination, documentation, and compliance review.

What’s at stake:
• Mandatory third-party verification for benchmarking data
• Increased scrutiny on data quality and reporting
• Risk of non-compliance if requirements are missed

Warum Simulationen früh entscheiden?

Energiesimulationen werden oft erst in späteren Planungsphasen eingesetzt. Dabei liegt ein großer Mehrwert bereits in der frühen Konzeptphase.

Ein vereinfachtes Gebäudemodell (Simple-Box-Modell) ermöglicht schnelle Abschätzungen und ein frühes Verständnis der Wechselwirkungen zwischen Gebäude, Technik und Betrieb.

🔎 Ein oft unterschätzter Faktor dabei sind die Betriebseinstellungen der TGA-Systeme.
Annahmen zu:
• Betriebszeiten
• Regelstrategien
• Systemparametern
können einen starken Einfluss auf Simulationsergebnisse haben.

Diese Annahmen werden früh gemeinsam mit dem Planungsteam diskutiert, dabei entstehen häufig wichtige Erkenntnisse für die weitere Planung.

💡 Die Analyse der Simulationsergebnisse kann zeigen, dass nicht nur die Gebäudehülle und/oder die Geometrie entscheidend sind, sondern auch der Betrieb und die Regelstrategien.

Ein iterativer Prozess sieht dabei idealerweise so aus:
➡️ Simulation
➡️ Analyse
➡️ Anpassung der Annahmen
➡️ aktualisierte Simulation

Es kann Planungsteams dabei helfen, Zusammenhänge besser zu verstehen und fundiertere Entscheidungen zu treffen. Bereits kleine Anpassungen an Betriebsstrategien oder Systemparametern können die Performance deutlich verbessern.

♻️ Zirkuläres Bauen: Vom Anspruch zur gelebten Praxis

Gestern waren Christian, Lisa Marie und Isabella beim DGNB Ideenlabor „Nachhaltigkeit by Design | Zirkuläre Materialien in der Infrastruktur“ in Offenbach vor Ort 📍.

Die Veranstaltung wurde von der Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB) gemeinsam mit dem Circle organisiert und bot eine starke Plattform für den fachlichen Austausch zu aktuellen Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätzen im zirkulären Bauen im Infrastrukturbereich.

Zirkuläres und CO₂-armes Bauen wandelt sich vom Innovationsansatz hin zur gelebten Planungs- und Baupraxis. Gleichzeitig wird klar, dass dieser Wandel nur mit konsequenter Umsetzung und echter interdisziplinärer Zusammenarbeit gelingt 🤝

🔎 Entscheidend ist jetzt nicht mehr das „Ob“, sondern das „Wie“:
· Welche konkreten Maßnahmen bringen wir bereits heute in die Baupraxis?
· Wie integrieren wir zirkuläre Prinzipien konsequent in die Planung?
