What happens when the discarded is given new life? "repurpose" explores transformation, resilience, and the hidden potential within overlooked materials. Recycled plastic is reshaped into forms that echo both organic and industrial structures. The word "plastic" has multiple meanings. It refers to materials that are lightweight, moldable, and widely used in manufacturing. In science, it describes a material’s ability to be shaped without breaking, as well as the brain’s adaptability (neuroplasticity). In art, the "plastic arts" involve shaping materials like clay or metal. Figuratively, "plastic" can mean flexible and adaptable or, in a negative sense, artificial and insincere. With an emphasis on sustainability and ingenuity, "repurpose" is both a visual experience and a conceptual dialogue about consumption, waste, and the shape of second chances. What can we salvage? How can we maximize our potential? How do we find meaning in what we leave behind? http://frankmay.net
