We were recently able to help another local family, this time Sterling, a local Alaskan who has been living with ALS for many years.

He has been fighting this disease with incredible strength and determination, never giving up, and continuing to show up for others along the way. He has also been such a huge advocate and supporter of Jimbo’s Wish since day one, which made it an absolute honor to be able to give back to him and help him continue the fight.

Sterling is truly an inspiration to all of us. His resilience, positivity, and unwavering spirit give so much hope to everyone around him.

Recently, a local Alaska family reached out to us for help after receiving an ALS diagnosis following years of uncertainty. What started as small changes quickly turned into something life-altering—not just for her, but for her entire family.

They’ve had to put their family business on hold to provide full-time care, while also navigating the emotional and financial weight that comes with this disease. Through it all, their strength, love, and resilience have been nothing short of incredible.

Because of your continued support, we were able to step in and provide assistance during this incredibly difficult time.

This Saturday, our H5 Construction team will be walking in the Walk to Defeat ALS at Wonderland Park — in honor of our dad and to help raise critical funds for a cure.

ALS has deeply impacted our family, and this walk is our way of showing support, raising awareness, and standing with others affected by this disease.

Not only is Alaskan Brewing one of the most respected names in craft beer—with a long history of award-winning brews and giving back to the community—they’re also helping us raise funds for Alaska families living with ALS.

You’ll find them out on the course during the round, sampling some of their best beers, and the fun doesn’t stop there—we’ll also be serving Alaskan Brewing at the post-tournament reception at Settlers Bay Lodge! 🍻

At Jimbo’s Wish, we honor this month by raising awareness about ALS — also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It slowly takes away a person’s ability to move, speak, eat, and eventually breathe.

Jimbo’s Wish was created to support Alaska families facing ALS by helping make their homes accessible and safe — and to carry on Jimbo’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity. Jimbo faced ALS with incredible strength, humor, and heart, and we’re proud to continue his mission.

~ Someone is diagnosed with ALS every 90 minutes in the U.S.
~ Approximately 5,000 new cases are diagnosed each year
~ ALS affects as many as 30,000 Americans at any given time
~ Veterans are twice as likely to be diagnosed with ALS
