When was the last time you changed your HVAC filter?

If you had to think about it… it might be time!

A dirty filter can restrict airflow and make your system work harder to keep your home comfortable.

A good rule of thumb is to check your filter once a month and replace it when it gets dirty. Homes with pets, allergies, or lots of dust may need more frequent changes.

Pro tip: Put a recurring reminder on your phone so you don't forget!

Slow drain? Don't ignore it!

A drain that takes longer and longer to empty may be giving you an early warning.

You might notice:
Water pooling around your feet in the shower
A sink that drains slowly
Gurgling sounds
Unpleasant odors
Water backing up

A slow drain doesn't usually fix itself. In many cases, it can get progressively worse.

If your drain is trying to tell you something, it's probably worth listening.

Friendly reminder: your garbage disposal is NOT a trash can.

Some foods are especially hard on disposals and drains, including:

🚫 Grease & cooking oil
🚫 Coffee grounds
🚫 Eggshells
🚫 Fibrous foods like celery
🚫 Bones
🚫 Large amounts of food at once

Instead, scrape as much food as possible into the compost or trash before running the disposal.

And when you do use it, cold water + small amounts of food is a great combination.
