We have broken ground on a building expansion at our Burton Ave. location in Waterloo, Iowa!

The expansion will house additional equipment including a new furnace that will increase its size capabilities in length, height and weight for heat treatment processes such as carburizing, through hardening and normalizing.

This month, we are highlighting our heat treat facility located at 2839 Burton Ave., Waterloo, Iowa - often referred to by our employees as simply "Burton" (the street address). https://hubs.la/Q046Y16r0

Here are a few things you may or may not have known about the plant:
🔷 Established in 1981, the Burton location was our first of the four facilities.
🔷 AHT has two heat treat facilities in Waterloo, making many heat treatments available to our customers within a short drive.
🔷 Burton is currently the only AHT location to offer carburizing, carbonitriding, through hardening, cryogenic treatment and normalizing. It also offers induction hardening, stress relieving, tempering, magnetic particle inspection and more.
🔷 This site has three shifts for around-the-clock coverage, open Sunday 11PM to Friday 7PM.
🔷 Burton has experienced several building expansions over the years and soon will see another one...

Tanner Curley has returned from deployment and is making moves at AHT. He has been promoted to Electro-Mechanical Technician at our Burton Ave. location in Waterloo, Iowa. Tanner worked part-time at AHT while finishing his degree at Hawkeye Community College before his deployment. From balancing school and work to serving overseas, Tanner's journey is one we're honored to be part of.

Lexi Springer, Materials/Quality Engineer at our MidPort Blvd., Waterloo, Iowa location, recently completed the IATF Internal Auditor training course through SAE International. This course is IATF 16949:2016 certified and covers internal audit methodology, terminology, and techniques of internal auditing.
