Working Ahead of the Storms at Kansas City International Airport (MCI)

Hi-Lite crews recently continued work at Kansas City International Airport (MCI) while storms moved through the area, pushing to keep the project progressing before weather conditions changed.

Despite the challenging skies, crews remained focused on delivering precise airfield work while maintaining safety and coordination on the runway. Projects like this require constant awareness of changing conditions and the ability to adapt quickly in active airfield environments.

Hi-Lite crews have been busy executing work across Tennessee through our statewide myTDOT contract, supporting airports throughout the state with critical pavement maintenance services that help keep airfields operating safely and efficiently.

A few weeks ago, crews were performing night crack sealing operations at Dickson Municipal Airport (M02 'Pack Field') as part of these ongoing efforts.

Crack sealing is an important part of preventative pavement maintenance, helping protect surfaces from moisture intrusion and extending the life of the pavement. By sealing cracks early, airports can help reduce long-term deterioration and maintain smoother, safer pavement conditions over time.

Working overnight allowed crews to complete the work efficiently while minimizing impacts to airport operations and daily activity on the airfield. Through projects like this, Hi-Lite continues to support airports across Tennessee with reliable, high-quality maintenance solutions.

Testing New Equipment and Rubber Removal at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ)

It’s been a busy few weeks for the Hi-Lite team. Our Florida shop recently had the opportunity to test a new water blaster system, continuing our commitment to using advanced equipment that supports efficient, high-quality airfield maintenance.

Following successful testing, crews completed a rubber removal project at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), helping restore runway conditions and maintain safe aircraft operations.

Great work by Jarid Savage, Paul Percifield, and Mark Mackintosh for their efforts on equipment testing and the successful project.

This Memorial Day, we at Hi-Lite Airfield Services take time to honor and remember the courageous men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country.

As a company that proudly serves airports across the nation, we’re especially mindful of the deep connection between aviation and those who wear the uniform. The freedom to fly, to travel, and to live safely at home is made possible by their sacrifice.

Today, we reflect on their legacy, extend our heartfelt gratitude to their families, and remember that our work and our freedoms are built on the service of others.

36L/18R ➜ 1L/19R

Hi-Lite and Hasco Inc., a Hi-Lite Company, recently worked side by side at Charlotte Douglas International Airport - CLT in support of CLT’s runway renumbering project, as Runway 36L/18R officially became 1L/19R.

This major airfield project required pavement marking removal, updated runway markings, and close coordination during active nighttime operations. With runway numbers measuring up to 60 feet tall by 20 feet wide, this type of work demands speed, precision, planning, and a strong commitment to safety.

Working overnight, the HASCO and Hi-Lite teams completed critical marking removal and replacement while minimizing impacts to daily airport activity. It was a strong example of two teams operating as one to support CLT’s system-wide consistency, safety, and FAA compliance as the airport prepares for its new Fourth Parallel Runway.

On site, the field teams were led by Ryan Bergdoll and Zack Hull from Hi-Lite, working alongside HASCO team leads Brandon Garcia, Marcus Rice, and Eleno Martinez.

Hi-Lite was proud to perform live demonstrations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, including the marking removal demo for Hog Technologies, the painting demo for Graco/ StencilFast, and the thermoplastic demo for PPG.

A huge thank you to the crew that made it all happen: Shaun Bergdoll, Anthony LaBrake, Brenton Dudley, Jake Harr, Troy Weaver, Ethan Norton, Michael Ritch, and Alex Sexton. Your hard work, professionalism, and dedication were on full display throughout the event.

We also want to congratulate Angela Holliday, Alex Sexton, and Mike Harper on successfully completing their AMP certifications during the symposium. We’re proud of your accomplishment and commitment to advancing excellence in the airfield marking industry.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, connected with our team, and joined the conversations around innovation, safety, and operational performance.

We’re already looking forward to the next one!
