A&C is proud to have teamed with Colliers Engineering and Design for the upgrades at NYPA’s Mine Kill State Park! Our team provided architecture and structural engineering services for the design and construction of a brand-new Kayak Storage Building, and land surveying services for the boat launch rehabilitation! 🛶

The building will serve as the central hub for kayak rentals, offering reception space and guest lockers inside, while housing kayak storage on the unenclosed exterior.

The building’s design was intended to compliment the surrounding nature of the park, with subtle Adirondack inspired detailing.

New life is coming to this waterfront property on the St. Lawrence River! 🏠

Our client is turning a modest 1,300-square-foot single-story cottage into a beautiful 4,990-square-foot modern home by the river, designed to fit their lifestyle. The new look combines a symmetrical front and clean rooflines, integrating classic appeal with modern waterfront living.

The old home, once cramped and outdated, is being transformed into a spacious two-story house that focuses on comfort, convenience, and making the most of the amazing river views.

The updated home will feature a roomy basement with direct access to the river, a practical first floor with ample storage, and a second floor designed for relaxing by the water. The private main suite will include a balcony, en-suite bathroom, and walk-in closet, making it a perfect riverside retreat.

The renovation will also add new features, including a garage, mudroom, covered back porch, deck, and a screened porch, all designed to help them enjoy the river’s beauty year-round.

Yesterday our Architectural Designer / Project Manager, Noah, had the privilege of hosting a “Career Talk” with sophomore students at the Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse!

The session informed students about the AEC industry and its various sectors, the types of projects firms like ours may work on, and the day-to-day activities of an architect! Students also received first-hand knowledge of the educational requirements and licensure path that is associated with becoming an architect.

Realistic, educational discussions like those held yesterday not only grant students the opportunity to envision themselves in the role, but enable them to make well-informed career decisions. We wish these students the best as they continue their academic journey!

This week we had the pleasure of attending the Flanagan Hotel demolition kick-off. Over the course of 2 years, our team has worked diligently with the Village of Malone and Franklin County to ensure this building comes down safely, in a controlled, scheduled manner. We are excited to work alongside Gorick Construction throughout the demolition process. Although the Flanagan could no longer be saved, its memories and stories will be held and cherished by those who experienced all it had to offer.

We sincerely appreciate the opportunity to support the County and Village in their efforts to prioritize growth, development and safety within the community by saying goodbye to the Flanagan and Lashomb buildings. We look forward to seeing the potential progress this opportunity presents for Malone!
