We had the privilege of closing out 2025 and kicking off 2026 with a project that meant so much more than four walls and a garage door.
What looked like a “simple garage build” quickly revealed itself to be something far more meaningful. The existing structure no longer met current city setback requirements, which meant a full tear-down and rebuild in the same location wasn’t an option. But beyond the code challenges, there was something even more important at stake — legacy.
This garage wasn’t just a structure. It was a space where multiple generations had spent years tinkering, building, fixing, and making memories. It held stories. History. Sentiment you simply can’t recreate.
So instead of starting over, we got creative.
Working closely with local building authorities, we developed a solution that honored both the regulations and the generations who made this space special. By preserving key elements of the original structure and thoughtfully integrating new construction, we were able to create the auxiliary garage our clients had dreamed of — without losing the heart of what was already there.
We carefully matched the home’s existing aesthetic while maintaining the strong bones laid by those who came before. The result? A refreshed, fully functional space that blends legacy with longevity.
Projects like this are why we love what we do. Turning wish lists into reality is always rewarding — but helping preserve family history while doing it? That’s something special.
Here’s to garages that hold more than just storage — they hold stories.
