We're honored to be part of the team behind The Drake, recipient of a 2026 Historic Athens Preservation Award for New Construction in a Historic Area.
Every successful urban project is the result of countless thoughtful decisions - many of them working quietly behind the scenes. SPG provided civil engineering, landscape architecture, and planning services for this downtown Athens project, helping integrate infrastructure, grading, drainage, streetscape design, and pedestrian connectivity into the fabric of downtown Athens.
The goal was creating a seamless, functional urban experience that supports the architecture and strengthens the surrounding historic district. Every element required careful coordination to ensure the site works as beautifully as it looks.
The best urban projects often make complexity look effortless, and The Drake is a great example of that.
