Final pics from the Ridgemont deck project in Urbandale, Iowa. This was all PT Pine with black Westbury handrail, and an aluminum pergola my client had purchased ahead of time for me to install.
PT Pine has gotten a bad wrap in the deck building game because of longevity compared to composite products, but with proper sanding/staining every 2-3 years Iβd argue wood πͺ΅ last just as long and looks even better! π
Not to mention, what do most builders use to frame a composite deck? PT PINE!π² So unless youβre using a composite framing material like Owenβs Corning, or an aluminum frame, the longevity argument is basically null and void. Which do you prefer, wood or composites?
