On Monday, we celebrated an incredible milestone and an even more incredible person. After more than five decades of dedication, hard work, and loyalty, Max left a legacy that simply can’t be replaced.

His commitment, wisdom, and steady presence has made a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to work alongside with him. We are wishing Max Farthing a retirement filled with rest, adventure, and all the things he has earned after 52 amazing years. He will be truly missed, but never forgotten.

Meet the next generation of coal miners in second grade at Sturgis Elementary. Students have been learning all about coal! Representatives from River View Coal were proud to present the importance of coal, how coal is mined, safety procedures and the job opportunities associated with coal.

Also, thank you to Nikki Conway with Cedar West KY for coordinating this opportunity!

We were represented well!
* Day 1 Mine Rescue 2nd place
* Pre-shift contest -Eric Cruce 1st place of 22 contestants
* Bench - Jeff Bradford 2nd place of 19 contestants
