Construction has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a father who was a general contractor, job sites were a normal part of childhood. Many weekends were spent sweeping houses after the trades left for the day and watching homes take shape from the ground up. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong appreciation for craftsmanship and the building process.

Inspired by life on a sailboat, this custom built-in bench brings a little of that nautical simplicity to the deck.

The curved seat was designed to make the most of the space, while the working louvers can be adjusted to control privacy, natural light, and the view.

Thoughtful details like these are what turn a deck into a space you actually want to spend time in.

From plans to progress.

My personal home is starting to look like the vision I had from the beginning. I just wrapped up the LP Lap siding in Abyss Black, installed over a rainscreen, along with the soffits and fascia.

The design is the Redwood Cabin by Jeff Waldman — a design I fell in love with and adapted for my home here on the Outer Banks.

One step closer to seeing it all come together.

From the first plans to the final delivery. 🚛🏡

This tiny house is on its way to a beautiful new home in Ocracoke, where it’ll become a cozy vacation rental surrounded by marshes, sound views, and unforgettable sunsets. The ferry ride was just one more step in the journey.

Soon, it will feature a spacious deck, thoughtful landscaping, and a peaceful setting that captures everything we love about the Outer Banks.

Watching a project go from an idea to seeing it begin its next chapter—is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
