***IMPORTANT***

Hey guys and gals, attached are pics of a rusted heat exchanger on an old commercial unit that we looked at today that wasn’t heating. This is a good example of why you should get your gas heating checked up in the winter time.

What you see here is a hole rusted inside of a sealed heat exchanger. This is where the flame runs through, and the fan in the picture vents all of the poisonous gases (carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrous oxide) out on the roof, so they don’t go inside the space that is being heated. When these gases do come into the building, it can cause illness, headaches, and in extreme cases even death. At this point, either the heat exchangers can be replaced or the furnace or system itself needs to be replaced depending on age.
