Northeast Power employees Zack Cook, Luke Kalin, Jodi Hingst, and Jessica Schmale recently attended the NRECA LEAD Essentials Program in Kearney, Nebraska!

This program provides valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, strengthen teamwork, and grow both personally and professionally.

⚡ Safety is our #1 priority at Northeast Power—always! ⚡

On October 8th, our team partnered with local volunteer fire departments and emergency responders near Allen, Nebraska, for another Mock Mayday exercise. This hands-on training provided an opportunity to practice responding to electrical emergencies, strengthen communication, and ensure everyone understands how to safely respond in a real-life situation.

Safety isn't just a priority—it's a commitment to our employees, first responders, and the communities we serve.

Training together keeps our community safer!
Monday evening, Northeast Power participated in a mock Mayday drill at the Wayne County fairgrounds with local first responders. Training together helps everyone on scene better understand what a real-life electrical emergency could look like and how to work together safety and effectively.
Thank you to Wayne Volunteer Fire Department, Winside Volunteer Fire Department, Carroll Volunteer Fire Department, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne Police Department & Dispatch, Wayne County Emergency Management, and LifeNet of Norfolk for participating.

Teach kids to never approach or play around tractors, combines, grain trucks, or other farm equipment unless an adult says it’s safe. Equipment operators may not be able to see children nearby—especially when backing up.

👀 Stay where operators can see you.
🚜 Keep a safe distance from moving equipment.
🛑 Never play on or around parked machinery.
👨‍🌾 Always follow an adult’s instructions.

Growing up on the farm is full of adventures—make safety part of every one! 🌾🐄

Farm life is family life — let’s keep it safe. During National Farm Safety & Health Week, remember: many childhood farm injuries happen when kids take on tasks they’re not quite ready for. Make safety a daily habit and help protect the next generation of farmers. 🚜❤️
