We’ve all got it…that inner voice that prompts us to make a
change, take a leap of faith, act on an idea that popped in our head. So...why do we hesitate? More often than not, we seek an opinion from someone else…and the 'someone else', perhaps even more than one person, quickly douses the fire that we feel inside. Though some may tell us to go for it, studies show that the majority of people will respond with a list of reasons why things will go wrong. Sigh. Well, we asked for it, right? Yes, sometimes we are our own worst enemy when we offer up our gut instinct...our intuition…that inner voice that spoke to us...as a chopping block for someone else to pound upon. So why then are we disheartened when the dream-killer cleaver is aptly applied?

In reality, we’ve already applied the dream-killer cleaver as the inner voice is always challenged with...logic. Our minds start weighing the pros and cons regarding anything outside the realm
of our "comfort zone.” The difference is, we are careful with the
cleaver! We use logic based on our own data to mindfully consider
how acting on an idea might impact our lives in various ways. The mind will either try to talk us out of it or talk us into it. Honoring the inner voice doesn't mean that another opinion is unimportant, rather we simply need to be strong enough to make the final decision after all voices have their say.
