Thank you to the many people that assisted, operated, and or just visited our special event at the historic Marconi Wireless Station Site located inside Cape Cod National Seashore- a unit of the US National Park Service.

KM1CC’s plans for International Marconi Day operations are a go as previously announced on March 7 with one exception. The HamSci information booth will not be set up this year.

We hope anyone interested in radio communications and other visitors to the park will stop by our operating location to learn about amateur radio and Marconi. The local weather forecast is for a feels like temperature in the low 40s with winds off the ocean - dress warm!

Location and hours:

KM1CC will be set up at the historic Marconi Wireless Station Site, Wellfleet, MA GRID FN51, POTA US-0672. Hours at the site will be 0900 am local time to 1600 pm local time.

Frequencies will be posted on Dxsummit.fi.

International Marconi Day
Saturday, April 25, 2026 0000-2359 UTC

KM1CC, the Marconi Cape Cod Radio Club is partnering with Cape Cod National Seashore to participate in the annual International Marconi Day on the air event. This event is sponsored by the Cornish Radio Amateur Club, UK -GB4IMD www.gx4crc.com.

KM1CC will set up the day of the event (weather permitting) at the historic Marconi Wireless Station Site, Wellfleet, MA GRID FN51, POTA K-0672. Hours at the site will be 0900 am local time to 1600 pm local time. This event is open to the public. We hope you can join us in person for eyeball contacts.

Plans include HF CW, SSB stations, an interactive fox hunt demo, and a special informational booth and display from the HamSCI organization. The HamSCI display will include information on their ionosphere research and personal space weather stations https://hamsci.org .

Our off-site operating location, also in FN51, will be on the air with digital, and HF stations starting 0000 UTC-2359 UTC on Saturday, April 25. The off-site station has power etc., the Marconi Wireless Station Site operation is like a field day set up with batteries and generator power.

KM1CC will be on the air Sunday, January 18, 2026 to celebrate the 123 year anniversary of Marconi’s first transatlantic wireless message from the USA to Europe (UK)- made January 18,1903.

update: On the air hours will be from 1500 UTC- 2100 for SSB on HF bands and FT8 standard frequencies. CW hours 1500 UTC-1900 UTC. Check DXSummit.fi during the event for spots.
