On this day 56 years ago Ray Straub, Richard Cardiff and I left for Navy Boot camp . Though we had no idea what it was going to be like. I would say it turned out well real well. As I remember back to those days it was a great experience. We learned the Navy way and to this day I still to things the Navy way. I am in Minnesota this morning looking at the latest and greatest from Schwing America. Still have that learning bug. To those I got the pleasure to serve with a special thank you for your service too. To the several duty stations Memphis, Meridian,Pensacola,Norfolk,Mayport. What a run you treated me really well. Oh I left out Great Lakes where it all began. Our Navy just amazing. Those members who make it so very special. The ships , the bases the ships the planes yes Amazing! Thanks for this day in 1967 it taught me so much ,I was the lucky one to get to say I am a U.S. Navy Veteran. AMH 2 US Navy 1967 to 1971 US Navy Reserve 1971 to 1983 . It is still my joy and privilege . Tommy
