Liability will be on the homeowner if the person doing work is not licensed and insured.

This oil line is not code. Sweating (soldering) soft to hard copper that was already used for petroleum products is a disaster waiting to happen.

Steam radiator on ceiling, in enclosure, on ground level. Unfortunately, this is ok because the radiator must be above water level, on steam systems. Not very aesthetic but it is what it is (existing)....

Complaint: Need more heat because the back room is always freezing.

Maam, pretty sure the plastic covering is why this room is constantly cold. Remove it and I am sure it will be much better.

Customer: Can't do that because spiders live there and I hate them.

Last winter a customer with a 16-family dwelling called for no heat. The system was operating with an outdated, defective heattimer. The company who repairs (replaces) the unit was backlogged and was unable to respond for at least 48-hours.

ARC provided a choice of either a temporary thermostat till the repairs can be made or install a Honeywell Redlink Pro 8000 with wireless sensors. He elected the latter. Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 with three remote sensors (wireless) and a redlink router for remote operation. Now the customer is requesting to retrofit his other buildings with the same.

(Excuse the exposed wiring (although it is concealed in the old Heattimer panel box)- we are anticipating installing a junction box on the next visit)

Customer stated he had four different service companies clean the boiler in past 90 days. We asked if they found a reason for the problem. Each serviceman said it was the other guys fault with improper adjustements.

We entered and found boiler plugged up but we we think we found the problem.

Draft is kind of important. (sarcasm applied).

A very important reminder from your friend's at: ARC FUEL OIL COMPANY.One of the largest concerns during the winter is frozen pipes. Non-insulated pipes within exterior walls or in crawl spaces can freeze during days with sub-freezing temperatures. As you may know when water freezes it expands. This expansion... presses against the walls of the pipes and if it continues the pipes may burst! This bursting can allow hundreds of gallons of water in to your home, causing severe damage to walls,carpets,ceiling, ect.
