More than 4,000 square feet of metal panel work shapes the exterior of the Orange-Ulster BOCES Arden Hill Campus, featuring 4,179 square feet of Alucobond in Standard Silver, fabricated with our ECONECT-Z system.

Serving middle and high school students, the Arden Hill Campus pairs a modern educational environment with a clean, contemporary exterior. The Standard Silver finish creates a sleek metallic appearance, while the panel layout adds dimension and architectural detail throughout the façade.

Behind the finished surface, our ECONECT-Z system provides the attachment solution that supports and secures the ACM panels, bringing together precise fabrication, performance, and design across the building exterior.

Today’s Shop Project: Custom Brake Metal

Today we’re in the Brake Metal Shop with our Roper Whitney AutoBrake 2000, forming flat sheets of metal into custom profiles for upcoming projects.

The AutoBrake uses CNC-controlled technology to perform programmed bends, allowing different angles and configurations to be formed with minimal changes to the machine setup. But the equipment is only one part of the process. Before the metal is bent, our fabricators use the machine’s control system to enter the specifications for each piece, including the required dimensions and bend angles. From there, they position and guide the material through the machine as the programmed bends are formed.

This combination of CNC technology and hands-on fabrication gives our team the ability to produce custom brake metal in-house, turning flat sheets into different shapes and profiles.

Complete Project Update: Cliffside Park, NJ

The Cliffside Park Housing Authority Senior Center is complete,  featuring more than 800 square feet of Laminators Incorporated Omega-Lite in the Classic Bronze finish, paired with our ECONECT-Z panel system. 

For this project, Omega- Lite provided a different approach to exterior panel construction. The material consists of aluminum bonded to a high-density, corrugated polypropylene core, creating a lightweight panel designed for exterior architectural application. 

Beyond the exterior, the Senior Activity Center serves as a dedicated gathering place for Cliffside Park’s senior community. The center provides space for activities, clubs, community events, health and wellness services, and more, creating a place for residents to stay active and connected.

Today’s Shop Project:

Today we’re in the brake metal shop taking a look at our TigerStop system in action.

Sheet metal is loaded into the machine, where the automated positioning system feeds and advances the material to programmed locations. At each position, the punch cycles to create the required hole before the material moves forward to the next measurement.

For our fabrication team, this process helps improve accuracy and repeatability while reducing the time spent manually measuring and marking each piece. This helps minimize errors and unnecessary rework, which reduces material waste.

Inside our shop, our team is assembling custom-fabricated components for an upcoming project in Wallington, NJ.

Each section is carefully positioned and clamped in place to maintain proper alignment during assembly. An adhesive is used to bond the components together before they are mechanically fastened with screws, creating a secure connection between the individual pieces.

For custom assemblies like these, accuracy during fabrication is important. The positioning and connection of each section must account for how the completed component will come together and ultimately fit within the larger architectural system at the jobsite.

It’s one of the many steps that take place behind the scenes before a finished component ever leaves our facility.

Located at 165 King of Prussia Road, The Brandywine Hotel features 2,598 square feet of Alucobond fabricated by our team.
Set along Philadelphia’s historic Main Line, The Brandywine is a hospitality property inspired by the elegance of rail travel, blending elements of the area’s past with a modern approach to design.
That connection between past and present extends to the material selection. New Age Dark Bronze Mica offers a modern interpretation of a classic bronze tone, making it a fitting choice for the hotel’s architectural concept and adding a warm metallic element to the exterior.
With the project now complete, these progress photos offer a closer look at the panels and details that helped bring the design together.
