PN Solutions and Forest Fire Research We produce an environmentally friendly flame retardant invented by Dr. Robert Kasowski, a retired Du PNS stands for Phosphorous-Nitrogen solution.

Our flame retardant works by forming a thermodynamically stable char on the surface of the wood when it is exposed to intense heat. This char prevents flammable vapors from escaping from the wood. Decreasing the flammable vapors decreases available fuel, which greatly impedes the spread of the fire. Our product essentially works like a fire break in that it deprives a moving forest fire of the fue

l it needs to spread. However, our product is superior to a physical fire break since i) the land and vegetation does not need to be cleared, (ii) the application is quicker and easily portable and (iii) our product keeps our fire fighters out of harms way.
