Here's my kiln. It's a Paragon Oval 10. It has the advantage of being deeper inside than some kilns so I can do warm glass projects that require more headroom. It was originally Brenton Sadreameli MR B that recommended I get this model.

This bowl was made by fusing 2 to 3 layers of glass flat on the kiln shelf and then it was slumped over a flower pot to give it it's scalloped shape.

This is one of the first finished pieces I've made. It's done using the pattern bar technique. I'll post some pics to take you through the process. I was really happy with the way it turned out. The middle part ended up looking like a some kind of fused glass butterfly.

Hi Everyone! I'd like to give an update on what I've been doing with the kiln recently. I was finally able to procure a glass cutting system and some other useful tools that are necessary to make glass art pieces. I'll be posting pictures of the finished pieces, and pictures of the methods I used to make them. This is the first time I've done anything like this and I'm enjoying learning process. I'm happy to announce that Delucca's Italian Grill in West Columbia is using Agora Glasswork's serving trays. Experimenting with slumping wine bottles, I've noticed that while regular sized slumped wine bottles can make great gifts, they aren't super practical to use as serving platters/cheese trays. So, I've found a local source of larger recycled 1.5 liter wine bottles. Make a handle out of the neck and you've got something interesting and useful. Add an indentation and you can hold a 3 inch ramekin for dips. I'm selling these for 20$ for the flat handled ones and 22$ for the ramekin variety. If anyone knows a local restaurant or other business that might be interested in recycled bottle products, let me know.

Hello ladies and gents! A few years ago, I acquired a kiln after spending time working with Brenton Sadreameli and Carolina Wyont at Mr.B's Bottleneck Guitar Slides and Glassworks. I've decided to start a small business producing kiln worked glass pieces. As of now, I'm making mostly products from recycled wine and liquor bottles. These can be used as anything from a cheese trays to a spoon rests or even just used to decorate your crib. I'll also be making fused glass coasters and art tiles out of glass made specifically for kiln working. Check out my photos and if you see anything you like please contact me.
