ERA Wire Team Members Make A Brave Rescue In West Haven House Fire

West Haven, CT — June 16, 2026 — A routine workday at ERA Wire, Inc. turned into a moment of extraordinary courage when three members of the ERA Wire team sprang into action after spotting smoke coming from a nearby home on Locust Street.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, ERA Wire employee Antione Ward was busy operating machinery at the company’s facility when he noticed smoke billowing from a home across Locust Street in West Haven, Connecticut. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Antione immediately sprang into action.

Without hesitation, Antoine grabbed a nearby fire extinguisher, alerted his coworkers, and rushed outside toward the burning home. ERA Wire President Rich Rae immediately followed, along with a third ERA team member, Wade Roseboro, as they joined the effort to assist.

The three men entered the burning residence and worked quickly to help evacuate everyone inside, including multiple daycare children and one adult. Their immediate response helped ensure that all of the children were safely removed from the home and that the adult was assisted out of the dangerous environment.

The adult female was later treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. Thankfully, no children were harmed during the incident.

As smoke and flames continued to spread, Antione, Rich and Wade worked together to help manage the situation and provide assistance until firefighters arrived on the scene. Their courage, teamwork, and willingness to put others’ safety before their own helped prevent what could have been a potentially tragic outcome.
