Steam boiler in Montclair. Someone moved the boiler to a different location from where it was originally. Piped the header in copper, reduced the pipe size, which is a no no, and then piped the copper pipe to the previous location of boiler's original header. What a mess. Needless to say, lots of issues. Banging, leaking, not heating and just an abortion of a job. Customer is also building walls to fix basement up which makes repairing this mess a task. I gave him a price for re piping the whole steam system but will need to do in the spring time. He also needed to stop construction of walls. Will keep you posted after spring.

Here we have a 135,000 Btus of heat on a 10 year old furnace that failed twice within 2 months. Oversized for the house and installed incorrectly. Starving for return air as you can see in picture. The house needed 85,000 Btus of heat as per my load calculations. I installed a 95,000 btus of heat and grabbed air from both sides of furnace because manufacturers tell you that both sides of furnace need to be used from 4 tons up. WE HAD 5 TONS. Customer texted me a month later and said; Fred I wanted to say thank you for doing such a great job with our furnace. Best endorsement is from my wife; The heat is great. Best the house has ever felt" end of texted quote. Another satisfied customer.
