The Steamship Authority Port Council should include an official member from the Town of Yarmouth. Most of Lewis Bay is located in Yarmouth and the Lewis Bay Research Center is seeking this as a long overdue oversight from a time long since past with far less traffic volume and vessel size and subsequent impacts. I had the pleasure of meeting with Olivia DiRenzo and Susan Starkey with the Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative about our Head of the Watershed program for the Net-Zero Workforce Housing in Sandwich, which was recognized as an example of housing becoming a catalyst for dealing with climate change and the wastewater issues. As Rob Brennan states clearly and Olivia stated directly to me the issues of housing and climate change are intricately linked. At Lewis Bay Research, The Cape Cod Watershed Institute Net-Zero EcoCampus sites in Sandwich and Yarmouth are intended to demonstrate this. And these projects are being replicated in upstate New York as a Rotary International Eastern Regional US platform for replication globally. As Rob Brennan states, "Cape Cod can and must become the leader in this venue." Because we have to. We are in the running for the Earthshot Prize, representing exactly that.
