On a properly operating warm-air furnace, the flame should be steady, strong, and consistent. When a burner flickers, dances, or struggles to stay lit, it’s often a sign of incomplete combustion — and that almost always comes down to improper air.

A furnace needs the right mix of fuel + oxygen to burn cleanly. When airflow is restricted or incorrect, the flame can’t fully burn the gas. That can lead to:
