New Year - New Resolution. Is a daily devotional or reading through the Bible in the coming year on your resolution list? I have a resolution solution.

Would you like to read through the whole Bible in the coming year in a unique way? Using the Reese Chronological Bible, coupled with a dramatized version of the Bible, I melded the two together and created 365 daily devotional videos that are uploaded onto YouTube.

Your understanding of the Bible can greatly expand as you listen to and study Biblical events in their historical order. When Edward Reese created his chronological Bible, he analyzed every verse of the Bible and placed it in the order in which events occurred. In this version, John 1:1 is the very first verse.

Here are a few examples of why this process makes for a better understanding: There are events in the life of David that happen in First and Second Samuel, with additional details added in Chronicles and about 73 of the Psalms that David wrote. All were put in chronological order, so your understanding of David and how his Psalms intertwine with the events of his life. Reading them in order may help you better appreciate their meaning and tenor.

In this Chronological rendering of the Bible, the lives of the minor and major prophets are no longer compiled together at the end of the Old Testament but are knitted through the books of Samuel and the Chronicles. All the judgements of the prophets are mapped in order of their pronouncements to the different tribes and kingdoms. With the events and judgements told chronologically, the judgements and preceding actions of each group may be separated in your mind to help you understand the timeline and the need for God’s prophets to guide His people back to Him.

Reese also meticulously separates the events that happen in the Northern Kingdom from the events of the Southern Kingdom through a series of parallel passages tying together the major and minor prophets.

In the New Testament, the four gospels are harmonized chronologically. The life of Paul unfolds in Acts, from persecutor to church planter, and delineates how time and circumstances relate to the reason and content of his letters to each of the churches and pastors.

By the end of the year, you will have created a daily habit of reading, listening to, and understanding the Bible more clearly. It will help you solidify your growth in learning God’s word moving forward into the next year.

You can find these daily videos on MrSilverTrumpet’s YouTube channel. There are 12 playlists, one for each month, laid out by days of the year. If you don’t start at the beginning of the year, you can follow each reading by day number instead of by dates.

Here is the link to click on: https://www.youtube.com//playlists Once there, click on ”January” to begin your reading journey. The last video of each month contains a link that takes you to the next month’s reading. If you miss the link, just click on the channel name “MrSilverTrumpet”, find Playlists, and then click on the next month that you need.

May God bless you in this coming year as you are faithful to and in His word.

October 15th is the beginning of reading through the New Testament in chronological order. I created these videos around 4 years ago. These readings are unique in that they are dramatized, and because the verses are in order of events, you will gain a better understanding of how everything ties together. Instead of reading an event in Jesus’ life on Earth four different times while reading the first four gospels, you can hear each event in order. The book of Acts is intertwined with all of the books that Paul wrote. Each video is approximately 15 minutes long. I start every day listening to one. Join me as we finish out the year reading God’s word together.

Have you ever heard of the Reese Chronological Bible?

If you are not familiar with this work, it is a very unique approach to God's word as he has taken every verse in the Bible and put it into the order in which the events happened. Here are a few examples: John 1:1 is the very first verse in this Bible. The life of David and all of the Psalms that he wrote are presented together. All prophets are laid out according to how the events happened, not all grouped together at the end of the Old Testament. The book of Acts just did not happen, and then the book of Romans started. Rather, Acts is interspersed throughout all of Paul’s epistles.

The drudgery of reading I Chronicles and the never-ending list of names is eliminated because these verses are only mentioned when the lives appear on the timeline of events.

So, this is what I did: I first converted 62 cassette tapes of a dramatized version of the Bible into a digital MP3 format. This fully dramatized version uses a different voice for each individual, which is very noticeable, especially when they interact with each other. There are also background sounds to fit the settings as well.

Using the software program Audacity, I spliced together and created 365 files to be used as daily devotionals. This was probably the hardest part of the project as I had very few reference points to locate and extract verses from 124 different files created from the 62 cassette tapes that were approximately 45 minutes long.

I then created 365 Word documents that contained all the verses for each day. With the Word document and the 365 MP3 files created, the next task was to make 365 PowerPoints. I painstakingly timed the PowerPoint presentation as the MP3 file read through each slide created from the Word document.

Then I converted all 365 PowerPoints into MP4 videos, which were all uploaded to YouTube. Each video is labeled by date and by number, so you can start at any point during the year and proceed through each day's Bible reading.

Why did I bring this up? Because October 15th marks the day when the order of events starts with the New Testament. So, for whatever reason you have (either you have never read through the Bible completely, or you don't have a consistent daily devotional, or you just would like to hear the gospels laid out in a timeline of events), check out this link.

I am a born-again Christian of just over 50 years, and reading through the Bible each year chronologically has given me a greater understanding of God’s word. You will literally have exponential growth and understanding of the Bible when you are done. Enjoy and God Bless - Bob
