This week in engineering, several project approvals were finalized and presented, while other initiatives remain in active development. On the prototype car team, the mechanical group successfully installed and tested the new seat belt system. Meanwhile, the electrical group focused on creating detailed car engine diagrams within a simulation program, which will allow them to conduct virtual testing moving forward.

Progress is also well underway for the battlebot team. The bots are currently being prepared and worked on, marking a highly successful start to their development phase.

In addition to project work, the department focused

heavily on STEM outreach this week. Teams presented to Engineering 1 classes, aiming to inspire students new to the Wheat Ridge STEM program to pursue future engineering pathways. Looking ahead to next week, the team will visit local middle schools to present our engineering programs to incoming high school students.

Thank you for your continued support!!

It has been an excellent week of preparation across all engineering teams as they make fantastic strides toward the next phase of development. The battle bot teams are currently finalizing their project approval documents while actively designing their bots using CAD software. They also dedicated significant effort to strategic budget management, ensuring they can maximize their bot's performance while remaining strictly within financial constraints. Meanwhile, the prototype car team focused heavily on compliance and procurement, purchasing initial prototype parts and carefully verifying that all components fully align with the official competition rules. Overall, both teams have done an incredible job positioning themselves for future success.

Come see us at the Farmers 5000 this Sunday at Wheat Ridge High School!

This week, the prototype engineering team focused on getting the car running for the first time since last year. After finalized brake work, wheel installation, and some electrical and hydrogen system troubleshooting, the team celebrated a successful first testing day on Friday! The car moved around the course with minimal problems, marking a major milestone despite a few areas still needing improvement.

Meanwhile, the Battlebot team made fantastic progress designing and machining metal parts. Their bots are getting closer to final assembly as the team works hard to bring their designs to life. Both teams are building great momentum!

This week at Wheat Ridge Engineering, the team moved forward with the energy of a true startup. The Shell Eco-Marathon prototype team focused heavily on restoring last year's car to full operation. On the mechanical side, the team successfully brought the braking system into working order while outlining future plans for repairs, remodels, and structural improvements. Meanwhile, the electrical team mapped out a complete diagram of the current engine layout and began configuring the speedometer. Shifting focus, the BattleBots team dedicated their time to designing custom parts and weaponry, even printing 3D prototypes to test their concepts. Thank you to Gavin for the writing

This week in Engineering, we made great progress as both the Gold and Blue Teams officially kicked off the design phase for their BattleBots. Additionally, thanks to the hard work of Ryan Oberly, Prototype now has our hydrogen system fully up and running. We also enjoyed some great team bonding with our very first team breakfast on Thursday. And thank you to Charles for the photos. That's all for this week-see you next Friday!

Hello Farmers! Welcome back to another year of amazing work. We kicked things off at Back to School Night, connecting with our wonderful students and families. Next, we welcomed our incoming freshmen at orientation to get the future engineers of the world hyped for the year ahead! Here are a few photos from Engineering 2–4 over the past couple of days. Shout-out to Eleanor for planning this week's fantastic activities!

Last day of the Shell Eco-Marathon was yesterday!! After hours of troubleshooting, our team took the car to technical inspection, and we passed! We were up against the clock to get on the track, but we worked together and made a successful official attempt.
We are excited to announce our prototype vehicle placed SECOND in our division, and the whole team has been celebrating this sensational milestone! 🏆
This week has been the culmination of months of effort from our team and we couldn’t ask for a better ending.

Day three of the Shell Eco-Marathon!!! We got to the track nice and early to start working on the car. We got our tank of hydrogen so we could start working on the back of the car and finding leaks. We also had the chance to show our hard work off to a group of elementary schoolers who dropped by for a visit. After multiple days of hard work and troubleshooting, we were also able to get our brakes working.
