Exciting progress at the Vogel Medical Campus in Tinton Falls! 🌟 Panels installed on the West elevation, now starting work on the North! Nicholson is panelizing the CFMF exterior shell and sending it to the site fully prepped—framed, sheathed, and ready. This innovation helps us fast-track the schedule, minimize waste, and get other subs in and out quicker. Proud to be leading with efficiency and precision! We are also proud to be part of this project, bringing a beautiful and expansive outpatient center to this part of Jersey.

🌟 Project Spotlight 🌟

Featuring a robust pile support foundation and a structural slab with varying thicknesses from 8” to 16”. We tackled the challenge of surcharging existing utilities before pile installation and over-excavated the building footprint to a depth of 10’ below grade to replace saturated soil with lightweight aggregate. With groundwater just 3’ below grade and a tidal-influenced waterway onsite, extensive dewatering was essential. Multiple concrete slabs on deck and roof deck showcase our exceptional skill and meticulous ex*****on. 💪🏗️

🏢✨ We were thrilled to have collaborated with Turner and Drexel University on the groundbreaking Health Sciences Building! This impressive 12-story, 494,688 sq. ft. facility, designed by the talented team at Ballinger, became the new hub for Drexel’s College of Medicine and College of Nursing and Health Professionals. Featuring 178,500 sq. ft. of cutting-edge classroom space, 98,700 sq. ft. of modern office/support space, and 87,000 sq. ft. of advanced lab/simulation space, this building was poised to shape the future of healthcare education.

Nicholson played a pivotal role in this project, delivering exceptional drywall trade services that ensured the highest standards of quality and precision. We are proud to have been a part of this state-of-the-art project.

We were honored to have been selected by Holt Construction to complete the prestigious American Express Centurion Lounge at JFK International Airport in 2020. Spanning 15,000 square feet, this lounge became the largest in Amex’s global network, featuring a magnificent 2-story elevated space and a mechanical penthouse.

Our team expertly handled the Millwork, Drywall, Ceilings, Doors, and Hardware throughout this world-class lounge, which included a member service area, back-of-house kitchen, family room, and a bar with a seating area.

Revitalizing Tradition, Enhancing Functionality

The 9,200 square-meter renovation of the University Center is set to deliver significant utility upgrades, including new electrical service, mechanical systems, and a full fire protection system. This project also involves renovating gathering spaces, offices, meeting rooms, and lounge areas, along with replacing all doors, windows, and the slate and copper roofing systems.

Key highlights:

Preserving historic features like millwork, wood paneling, custom window designs, stained glass windows, and interior stone walls
Modernizing infrastructure for improved functionality and safety

We are thrilled to announce that our B50 LVV DPM Project/NEUS at West Point has been awarded the Best Large Project by the GES Safety Awards! This prestigious recognition highlights our commitment to safety, innovation, and excellence in construction.

Achieved a stellar 96 composite score
Erected an impressive 950 tons of steel
Implemented underground biowaste routing and sanitary drain systems
Minimized roof penetrations to reduce maintenance needs
Employed a modularization strategy with modularized façade panels
Installed 52 EAS Modules on the 1st floor and 37 Modules on the 3rd floor
Created state-of-the-art clean rooms
Sequenced work to eliminate repeat tasks, especially with air handling systems and the cold box

Reimagining Spaces, Elevating Experiences

This project transformed an unfinished space overlooking Terminal A into a luxurious club with seating for over 200 guests, dining, bar services, and more.

Key features include:

>Exquisite millwork with metal cap details, tambour wood, and walnut finishes
>Acoustic paneling and ceilings
>Imported Horizon Italian granite stone and bronze metal paneling
>Quartz and Wellington stone finishes in restrooms

Despite the challenges of working in an occupied building and coordinating with airport staff, safety and timely completion were ensured. This project exemplifies our commitment to quality and meticulous planning. 🏗️✨

Introducing our division leader, Andrew Desandolo. With over 20 years of experience in the flooring industry, Andrew spearheads the newest Nicholson division as our Director of Flooring. Andrew worked for the Gillespie Group for the past 7 years as the Director of Estimating and Project Management. In addition to expertise in the corporate interiors, healthcare, & life science industries, Andrew brings extensive knowledge of cleanroom floor and wall systems, working with the best Fortune 500 companies in the tri-state area.

Say hello to Ricardo Cardona, our Flooring Project Manager. Ricardo carries with him over 20 years of experience in construction, spanning multiple disciplines. With his most recent work as a Project Manager for the Gillespie group, he has also been involved with procurement, logistics, and business development for a general contractor. Ricardo provides expertise managing projects in the higher education and healthcare industries. Some notable clients include Rutgers, Rowan, and Princeton University.

Jasmine is our talented Assistant Project Manager for the Flooring Division. With over 10 years of experience, she has worked as a team with Andrew for more than half of that time. A variety of past roles including contract specialist, estimating coordinator, & project coordinator has supplied Jasmine with an arsenal of skills to assist our team. Jasmine helps our Flooring Division provide top-tier service & coordination across all projects. A few notable clients that she has worked closely with in the past include Bristol Myers Squibb, LG, Quest Diagnostics, and Kean University.

With over 6 years of experience in the flooring industry, Paul brings to the table a plethora of knowledge and great attention to detail. Prior to Nicholson, Paul worked for the Gillespie Group as an estimator. His ability to handle high bid volumes in a timely matter truly sets him apart from the rest. Paul provides estimating expertise for projects in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
