CrashWorks is officially closed for the time being.

I was going to start this with some cheesy saying about tough times, or what doesn't kill you, etc. If I'm being honest, though, there are no words that feel "right".

We have spent six and a half years building a creative space for our community, and are so proud of what we have accomplished. Many tears have been shed over this decision, but ultimately, it was the only choice we had. Countless other small businesses have been in this same position the last few years, and it never gets less heart breaking.

Our family of 11 was in the impossible position of having to decide whether or not to pour almost $100k into our current location. As you can imagine, such an amount is not feasible should we desire to keep feeding our children, and they do enjoy eating on a daily basis.

When we add this to the fact that some big changes were needed in regards to scheduling and family time, the decision, while not easy, was clear.

This isn't goodbye, just see ya later. While we are working on trying to sell our building, we will continue with all our contracted work/teaching, will begin hosting Mommy & Me and other pop ups at various places around town in the next few months, may offer on campus field trips and more as we take some time to regroup and pray through what we as a family need CW to look like in the future, for both our sanity and our budget. Ultimately, our goal is to reopen in a smaller space with a smaller event schedule and smaller staff that doesn't require so much managing and overhead, allowing us to better enjoy the time we have left with our kids as they grow.

As a reminder, we will be closed today due to the traffic and parking during today's Hotter'N'Hell Hundred event - no Open Studio or Mommy & Me today! We wish racers, volunteers, staff, and emergency personnel a safe and fun day!

We WILL still be hosting our Prayer Board event this evening at 6:30p.m. - we will see you there!
